Following the successful release of Beverley Trotman’s reflective Praise & Worship debut album ‘Voice of Hope’ on the Integrity Europe record label, new genres of sounds have been added to the project.
The Special Remix Edition of the album offers an eclectic mix of genres from Soulful Garage to Piano/Jazz, Sci-fi Disco, Latin, Neo Soul (her interpretation of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Heaven Help Us’ comes very highly recommended), Drum & Bass and Calypso.
The album offers remixes from Junior G of ‘House of Praise’, Beverley's fantastic live band M.D.C (AKA Mark, Dwayne & Chris), her husband Jon.T, with additional piano contributions from one of the UK’s finest Gospel/Jazz pianists, Ronnie Francis.
Church Girl
Brought up in church, Beverley's vocal expertise came from working for years with some of the UK’s premiere choirs (IDMC and The Kingdom Choir) and singing solo in church.
In the mid '90s she also worked with the record label ‘Public Demand’ where she
added her vocals and lyrics to a number of Drum'n'Bass hits, eventually going on tour in Japan with DJs Nookie and Ray Keith.
Settling Down
With a degree under her belt and two children to bring up, Beverley decided to settle down and become a primary school teacher. She had found the other half of her calling! Having had a difficult childhood, the ability to inspire children has been the catalyst which has helped guide her path.
X Factor
Singing constantly for many years in the classroom, her class children eventually persuaded their teacher to ‘go for it’ - her X Factor journey began. And even though the X Factor experience has taken her from singing in front of a TV audience of 10 million to appearing in Fame the Musical for 6 months, to a gospel music tour of Europe, Beverley has always kept her roots in church, teaching, and gospel music.
Good Year
2010 has been a good year for Luton-based Beverley, with appearances on high-profile mainstream, as well as specialist platforms: Prom Praise, Oraclez, the BBC’s Songs of Praise, Global Day of Prayer, the historic recording of the Haiti charity single and the Just Out of This World talent search competition.
