Dan Wooding, founder of ASSIST Ministries reports that The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) announced that it is re-launching its Turning Point show which began in 1977 with the goal of producing an English language programme for an African audience.
"It aired successfully for more than ten years,
becoming a household name in countries such as
Nigeria," Stuart Bennett of CBN International told the
ASSIST News Service (ANS).
"Its impact can be measured by thousands of letters and
e-mails from viewers around the world. But it is probably
better judged by the thousands of people who have come
to know Jesus Christ through the programme."
A new version of Turning Point launched late June 2010. The programme will still feature the
American co-host, Kathy Edwards, but the driving force behind the programme, replacing former host Victor Oladokun, will be a personality well known to many of us here in the UK: Muyiwa Olarewaju.
Muyiwa is already heard daily on both Premier Radio and Premier Gospel radio stations. He hosts the flagship show Gospel Tonight and Worship Tonight, both award-winning programmes.
REACHING A WIDER EUROPEAN AUDIENCE
Bennet added, "With Muyiwa in the driving seat of
Turning Point International, it is hoped that the
programme will gain a wider audience in English
speaking countries and across Europe.
The programme captivates viewers with the true-life
stories of television, music and sports celebrities
as well as ordinary people who find themselves in
extraordinary circumstances.
"Turning Point International empowers viewers with
thought-provoking interviews that deal with critical global issues that impact their world.
These stories of hope, courage and victory reach viewers of all ages making Turning Point International a family programme with a turn for the best."
SEVERAL SHOWINGS
Turning Point International can be seen twelve times a week on channels in the U.K. In addition, it can be seen all over Europe on Sky TV, in fifteen countries in Africa and many countries in the Caribbean.
The programme Turning Point International is a production of The Christian Broadcasting Network, Inc. (CBN).
The global ministry of CBN is committed to preparing the nations of the world for the coming of Jesus Christ through mass media. CBN broadcasts via television in over 100 nations and territories. It has production centers in 16 countries and has broadcast programmes in 108 languages.
