BEVERLEY KNIGHT RETURNS FOR FOURTH SERIES OF GOSPEL ON BBC RADIO 2 (4 June 09)
UK Soul Diva Beverley returns for a fourth series of her gospel show on one of the UK's most listened-to stations, BBC Radio 2.
The show offers a combination of live guests and excellent UK and US gospel music.

GL LIVE FIVE RETURNS DA T.R.U.T.H (9 June 2009)
GL Media has announced GL Live V for August 2009. It brings back Cross Movement Records artist DA T.R.U.T.H and also features US acts Sean Simmonds and Mark J. UK support is from Commision and E-Tizz. Full details to be announced via gllive.co.uk
SHARON ROSE RELEASES ‘WILDCARD’ AS FREE DOWNLOAD (9 June 2009)
New artist Sharon Rose released her four-track EP ‘Wildcard’ to celebrate the launch of her new website, and give potential fans a taste of her sound. The EP features two unreleased songs ‘Superman' and ‘Better', and live versions of two ‘My Fire' and ‘Testify', that had previously appeared on her debut 2007 album.
Sharon won March 2009's MSN'S 'Unsigned' podcast competition and is getting ready to release her single, the pop-driven L.O.V.E on July 6. The free download EP was officially released yesterday at Sharonrosemusic.com
BRITISH BLACK MUSIC CONGRESS: JUNE, JULY BRITISH BLACK MUSIC MONTH (10 June 09)
BritishBlackMusic.com/Black Music Congress’ annual ‘British Black Music Month’ returns for 2009.
BBMM2009 focuses on legal and business opportunities: networking forums, half-day music industry masterclasses, an album anatomy to learn from singer-songwriter David Grant and even a 4 week trial offer of the electronic version of UK industry magazine Music Week.
COMMISSION MAKE ACTING DEBUT IN ‘FATHERLESS' (10 June 09)
Following on from 'POSTCODE WARS', DA-VINE JEMS Productions brings the first instalment of their debut theatre production 'FATHERLESS', a theatre production of charting the lives of 3 young individuals as they experience losing their fathers to apathy, death and neglect.

JOFISH MEDIA/WE SING U SING PRESENT SUMMER SONG GOSPEL MUSIC FESTIVAL (10 June 09)
Summer Song Gospel Music festival - for the first time in Croydon’s History it has its first ever gospel music festival featuring over 2000 performers from amateur to professional, from primary school children to seasoned adults, from English - West Indian, African - European, from Christian – Muslim.
Since Gospel songs like “O Happy Day” & “Something Inside So Strong” hit the UK charts, films like “Sister Act 1 & 2” Featuring Whoopi Goldberg, and more recently Hit TV show, “Last Choir Standing” we have had a love for the vibrancy and inspiration on Gospel music.
Nothing like this has ever been attempted on this scale locally, regional and even nationally. The festival runs from Monday 13th - Friday 17th July 2009, at The Fairfield Halls, Croydon

CHRISTIAN WEB AND NEW MEDIA AWARDS RETURNS FOR 2009 (10 June 09)
The Premier-sponsored Christian Web and New Media Awards puts out a call for nominations 12 website or blogs across three categories: New Media, Website and Blogs.
Prizes include an Apple Mac Notebook, a Nintendo Wii, an Apple iTouch, and a home cinema projector (also suitable to use at church), a cheque of £1000 For Best Small Church Website. The winner of Best Large Church Website will have their own ministry series on Premier Christian Radio.

GET £7500 FOR YOUR MUSIC BUSINESS (CLOSING DATE 12 June 09)
£7500 up for grabs to take a music business to the next level. The Portobello Business Centre in association with Sledge Media proudly presents the launch of the 1st annual MBPC.
The competition is open to start-up and existing small businesses throughout the UK. Over £8,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners. Contestants can participate by submitting a 2-page summary of their business idea, a completed registration form, plus a £10 entry fee before the 12th of June 2009 5pm deadline.

MICHAELA’S FIXING HER BARBIE (14 June 09)
Michaela 'Birth Of A Poet' one of the UK’s brightest new-generation sparks will be releasing 'Fixing Barbie', her debut album on the 29th of August at the Stratford Circus Theatre in East London.
According to her official Facebook page the album offers live and studio material, acapella, Spoken Word, Electro-Pop, Blues, Rock and Funky House. This will undoubtedly all be underpinned by her well-observed and intelligent poetry.
The launch night itself offers DRAMA from students in the PROFESSIONAL Class of IDENTITY DRAMA SCHOOL, dance and live music. Tickets are £15 with a free album. More details: Facebook
NEW BIRTHDAY FREESTYLE FROM GUVNA B (15 June 09)
If you're not on Facebook, then you're going to miss this one unless Guvna releases this tune some other way: he's put out a freestyle over Davinche's 'Rider' rhythm, part celebration of his 20th birthday and part response to suggestions that he's compromising the gospel...

‘Slave’ is the superb lead single put out by E Tizz, taken from his forthcoming album 'Sound Of My Soul'. It features Hip-hop artist S.O. with production by sought-after producer G.P of New Direction Crew. 'Slave' is already without doubt one of the strongest tracks of 2009
Recently signed to Jahaziel's label Preacher Boy Music , ‘Sound of My Soul’ features Guvna B, G-Force, Sammy G, S.O and Jahaziel and is due for release Summer 2009.

STREET PASTORS CHALLENGE CHRISTIANS: BITE THE BULLET ON GANG CULTURE (22 June 09)
Rev Les Isaacs, Street Pastors founder: “The problem of gangs is a subject the Christian community cannot ignore anymore.
It’s regularly in the news, and increasingly Street Pastors is having to deal with concerned parents whose children are either in gangs or intimidated by gang members and church leaders, who are having to devise new ways to reach out and disciple the gang members joining their churches.”
Bite The Bullet is a day-long event will feature a talk by leading criminologist and youth crime expert Professor John Pitts, who has produced several reports about gangs within the UK
GOSPELZONE 2009 AT NOTTINGHAM CARNIVAL - SAT 4TH, SUN 5th JULY
GospelZone 2009 at Nottingham Carnival 12 noon til midnight both days. Forest Recreation Ground, Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham NG7. This years tent has been organised by Hand In Hand Ministries in partnership with Soulcure. Shekinah Sound System are also stakeholders supplying the PA and of course playing.
The line up includes a good mix of artists from Nottingham and the rest of the UK: Guvna B, Victizzle, Kimberly Stewart, Owen Uriah, Brother Keith, Yesayah, The Elm Project, Know The Truth, DJ Righteous P, RTS, Sammy G, DJ Proclaima, Carol Gayle, Ram1
