JOHN McPHERSON BROADCASTS FINAL GOSPEL SHOW ON BBC AFTER 23 YEARS (4 May 09)
Gospel Inspiration, the show broadcast in the north of England on BBC local radio in Manchester and Sheffield, and presented by John McPherson airs for the last time on 10th May.

BBC OXFORD RADIO GIVES PERMANENT SLOT TO UGE (4 May 09)
Urban Gospel Experience announced that they have been offered a permanent show slot on
BBC Oxford. Since their first on air broadcast in June 2007, they have had a series of one hour shows every summer. The new slot was extended to two hours from 7-9pm on Sundays, hosted by DJ G & Lady T.

SMOOFLOW OPENS VIRTUAL HISTORY BOOK (4 May 09)
Smooflow, one of the scene's most prolific video content creators follows up the several videos and MTV award-winning short movie Broken Silence with the Virtual History Book, an in-depth series exploring Black Historical issues in a modern context. UK PRODUCER ON TEDASHII TRACK (6 May 09)
He's undoubtedly one of the very best new-generation producers UK gospel has to offer. His incredible work on his group New Direction Crew's debut album, In The Saviour's Shadow, should at the very least be nominated for a MOBO 2009 award.

JO FISH MEDIA ANNOUNCE WEEK-LONG, HIGH-QUALITY GOSPEL FESTIVAL (20 May 09)
Summer Song, Croydon's first-ever Gospel music festival featuring over 2000 performers from amateur to professional, from primary school children to seasoned adults takes place from 13th - 17th July 2009 at Fairfield Halls, Croydon.
Major strands of the event include a 500 piece Mass choir performing over 3 nights, a cream-of-the-crop selection of RnB, Hip Hop, Grime, Garage and Reggae artistes, as well as a The “A LIST” of British gospel artists, and an all star band, guest presenters and much more, coming together for A Celebration of UK Gospel. The event will be recorded later transmission on TV. More details soon.

LONDON COMMUNITY GOSPEL CHOIR BRING GOSPEL TO WEMBLEY STADIUM (30 May 09)
The Football Association invited The London Community Gospel Choir to perform at Wembley Stadium on May 30th before Everton take on Chelsea. LCGC will sing 'Abide With Me' on all ITV's FA Cup coverage, and have now recorded a special version, released as a charity single for Cup Final week.
All profits from the release will go to The FA's official charity partner male cancer charity Everyman, and their joint initiative 'Keep Your Eye on the Ball' which raises awareness of prostate and testicular cancers within the football community.
