RnB/Soul returns centre stage as the 2010 organic sound upsurge continues...

V9 Collective: founded in March 2009 by bass player, writer and producer Sam Lynch, V9 Collective ('V' for 'Vision', '9', 2009, from the year they were formed), describe their sound as a fusion of old school funk and new school soul with an injection of sweet Gospel vocals, promoting positive and inspirational messages of love and hope.

Sam Lynch started writing and composing music about 11 years ago, collaborating with the other band members, his wife Vernetta, sisters Ruth and Tula and cousin Semele, all experienced singers in their own right who have works and recorded with many mainstream artists over the years.

V9 Collective released their debut album ‘World To Me’ in May 2010. This album features two of the UK’s finest male artists Clinton Jordan on ‘God Is Love’ and Rapper WariYah on ‘Gift Of Music’.

In this fun podcast V9 chat to Yinka about 'Gift of Music', selecting a few tracks to highlight:

Randomness, behind-the-scenes info, what 'V9' actually stands for, how old Motown and classic 80s RnB/Soul influenced their sound, why Sam had to put his dodgy vocals on a guide track for guest artist Clinton Jordan plus jokes about *not* listening to non-Christian music,...

Oh yeah - plus some *great* out-takes!

I really didn't want my picture here, but I'm bowing to pressure.
